Conference main accents

During the conference, the central message was that although we live in an increasingly unstable world that affects us in many ways, there is still much we can do to address the everyday challenges we face—both at work and in our personal lives.

In her presentation Jozefa Fawcett stated that “The ‘Never Normal’ isn’t something to fear. It’s something to shape together. She posed a question “What happens when we adopt curiosity over caution? We recognise that constant change isn’t a crisis to manage – it’s the new context in which we teach, learn, and grow”.

Jana Chynoradska introduced some of 9 principles of a SMART person – Be a Team player, Be Intuitive, Be Open-minded and others, mentioning that intution is a kind of new skill of ability in our world and that we need to stay open-minded, because we don’t know what we don’t know and at the same time we need to look at the world through different lenses.

Dace Skeranska offered a short self-assessment of the inclusive environment in an educational institution and Rasma Pīpiķe posed a question each organization should answer “What kind of people should be on my team to create maximum benefit for the organization/clients?”

Eveli Kuklane from Estonia presented her school’s experience with transformation and shared their approach to finding the motivation to successfully implement the necessary changes.

In her presentation, Vanda emphasized the importance of learning from one another—not only nationally, but also at the European and global levels. She noted that there is no need to reinvent what others have already created and successfully implemented elsewhere.

During the panel, experts engaged in an insightful discussion about the challenges facing educational institutions and explored potential solutions. Among the topics addressed were whether educators receive the support they need from society and institutions, how to prevent a decline in their influence and capacity, and what measures can be taken to elevate the social prestige of the teaching profession.
