Summary
Background
The Future Diplomats Club project started its work in education through diplomacy 17 years ago, in collaboration with the Embassies of Romania in different countries targeted by our organization according to their priorities. As a result of these activities in foreign countries, expertise has been accumulated. As a result, final products have been produced which can be used to give the possibility to a more significant number of young people from Romania and other countries to participate in its activities in a new Congress format to achieve the objectives proposed by this project called CONGRESS OF THE FUTURE DIPLOMATIC CLUB - DIPLOMACY AND NEGOTIATION. At the initiative of the young people who have participated in the project's activities in the past, the decision was taken to extend it in this format. One reason for applying is that the young participants have experienced a niche segment of activity for the benefit of the local community, namely embassy diplomacy with specific structures and organizations that they need the opportunity to get to know and learn skills in other projects.
Objectives
By implementing the project, we wanted to achieve several objectives as follows: Understand the importance of negotiation as an optimal way of conflict resolution; realize that diplomacy is the way of interregional cooperation for the benefit of peace and regional development; know how embassy structures work; to understand the importance of conflict prevention for regional and international economic development; to realize the importance of partnerships between different states achieved through diplomacy within the framework of international treaties; to learn the skills of economic diplomacy, parliamentary diplomacy and cultural diplomacy; to understand the roles determined within an embassy team in inter-state negotiations and bilateral treaty-making; to acquire skills in intelligence gathering and its use in partnerships and treaty negotiations. These objectives were linked to the selected priorities because, from the point of view of the Youth priority, the goals contributed to increasing the quality, innovation and recognition of young people's work through the Future Diplomats Club Congress format.
Implementation
Our project had a series of activities: online preparatory meeting, management activities, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of exercises, Future Diplomats Club Congress, online edition, Future Diplomats Club Congress - first international session. In the performance of the first activity, we had an agenda in which we introduced the details of the format of the congress and the distribution of tasks within the international partnership; we agreed on how the rest of the activities will be carried out, the quality and safety standards of the participants, the logo of the project, the content of the brochures and the way of evaluating the results. As a result, the management, implementation, evaluation and monitoring activities were carried out as agreed, and all the project objectives were achieved. In this way, the final products for each project phase were produced as reported in the interim report, and the follow-up was carried out according to the project standards. Furthermore, the online and face-to-face editions were carried out through permanent cooperation with partner organisations.
Results
In terms of the expected results of the activity we can mention the following :elaboration and printing of documents related to the logistics of the project results, such as 20 official project posters with the logos of the Congress, partner organisations and Erasmus plus, e.g. 1. 100 flyers promoting the project with the same symbols, 200 copies of the official brochure presenting the project, 100 copies of the booklet explaining the Future Diplomats Club Congress with the project protocols, rules, procedures of the Congress, 10 brochure formats with the treaties produced after the Congress, 60 copies of the project guides, i.e. IT Guide, Marketing Guide, Communication and Press Guide, 3 training modules in the areas of the principles, 4 formats of official letters for communication with embassies, which will be involved in the communication activities and procedures that will be part of the guide; Promotion activities through the creation of 3 specialised social media pages, 12 press articles; activities to create 1 project website; 2 Congress sessions i.e. one online and one face-to-face; 2 booklets with treatises made by project participants.
