Summary

From 2016 until 2019, there were very few solutions available in Europe for providing inclusive educational support. There are several major platforms specifically designed for people with disabilities, but most of them are based outside Europe. Furthermore, the online learning platforms currently available offer MOOCs (massive open online courses) on entrepreneurship or certain aspects of it, which have always been a subject of major interest. Moreover, it is difficult to find an online course on inclusive entrepreneurship or any other course that uses an inclusive educational approach or specifically targets people with disabilities.

The overall objective of the project is to develop an innovative e-learning platform enabling students at European universities to access training in entrepreneurial skills, with a focus on people with special needs by integrating them and adopting an inclusive educational approach; this objective has been fully achieved. The Success4all online course is a high-quality, free, on-demand and modular course on entrepreneurship, using an inclusive approach.

The specific objectives of the project have also been achieved:

• to promote entrepreneurship and strengthen students’ skills, with a particular focus on encouraging students with disabilities in Europe;

• to share successful practices and expertise in entrepreneurship training and online education;

• to contribute to the inclusion of students with disabilities in higher education and to the promotion of the ‘Education for Inclusion’ programme;

• to raise awareness amongst businesses of the need to employ young people with disabilities, to meet their needs and to harness their specific potential;

• to develop, test and validate an innovative online course on entrepreneurial skills, fully adapted to people with disabilities;

• to develop an innovative e-learning methodology specifically designed to meet the needs of the target group;

• to contribute to the integration of entrepreneurship education into higher education.

The project’s target groups were identified as follows: students, including people with disabilities, and entrepreneurs, including people with disabilities. In total, 577 users, including people with disabilities, benefited from the various versions of the platform and had the opportunity to evaluate it.

The project was implemented by a very strong consortium.

- Two universities: SAS ESGCV – PSB Paris School of Business and South-West University Neofit Rilski

- Two organisations specialising in research, analysis and business consultancy: Centre for Research and Analyses and BIEDRIBA EUROFORTIS

- Three non-profit organisations supporting people with disabilities and entrepreneurs with disabilities: Centre for Independent Living, NODIBINAJUMS INVALIDU UN VINU DRAUGU APVIENIBA APEIRONS, H’up Entrepreneurs (formerly UPTIH)

- An organisation specialising in project management and the design of communication and dissemination tools, including websites and project portals: EuroQuality

The most significant outcomes of the project are:

- An innovative Success4All methodology tailored to the needs of the primary and secondary target audiences. This methodology is the result of extensive research into the target group’s needs regarding: entrepreneurship training and innovative pedagogical approaches to inclusive education. This methodology can be transferred for use in other projects or by other organisations, either in its current form or adapted.

- An online course in English, French, Bulgarian and Latvian, which is open, free of charge and accredited at EU level, and adapted to the national context.

- An e-learning platform designed to address accessibility issues.

Furthermore, the project has the following impacts:

- Promoting entrepreneurial thinking and strengthening entrepreneurial skills (transversal skills) among students, particularly by encouraging students with disabilities across Europe.

- Contributing to the implementation of inclusive education.

- Raising awareness amongst businesses of the need to employ young people with disabilities, meet their needs and harness their specific potential.

- Promoting innovative information and communication technologies and driving the modernisation of higher education provision through the development of high-quality open-source training courses via a virtual platform, thereby acting as a solution to reduce youth unemployment in the EU by encouraging self-employment and business start-ups.
